Prone Position

The prone position is the position of a shooter lying face down on the ground. It is considered the easiest and most accurate position as the ground provides extra stability. With the added support of a rifle sling in either the "hasty" or "deliberate" configuration the position can be made extremely "rock solid". No other position that requires, only, the use of the body's extremities (and with the exception of a sling) for support can provide for a more stable position.
