Respiratory Pause

Cessation of air flow during respiration for less than ten seconds.

During shooting, the natural inhalation and exhalation of air flow will cause the sights of the to rise and fall. Rise on the inhalation and fall on the exhalation. Between the inhalation and exhalation cycle there is usually a brief, when in a resting state, pause where the flow of air ceases. This is the most opportune time to take a shot at the given target, as the sights are not moving because of the in and out air flow to the shooters lungs.
